Well I just spent the last 20 minutes or so archieving the third page of site reviews and was just curious if there could be an easier way to archieve. Is there anyway you can archieve multiple threads? I try to keep up on it as best as possible but with new members comming to the community everyday each forum grows pretty fast. Let me know what you think Doc.

Well, from the main control panel I can "prune" posts that are older than a certain date, but that just deletes them altogether, not a good thing? I think I'd need to build a whole new script for auto-archiving, yuck, lotsa work that I don't really know how to do. I'll see what I can do, maybe some things to streamline the process somewhat, hmm. (Thoughts about frames, holding the URL of the "next newest post", and then auto-jumping back to it after archiving the oldest one.) Lemme think on how best to do this.

Well if its going to be a lot of work its deffinatly not necessisary. I was thinking something along the lines of having like a checkbox or something next to every thread and then something like archieve all checked button on the bottom but doing it the old fashioned way is fine...

um... how do you know when to archive posts? is there some sort of trick to it or do you just, like, 'use the force'?

Yup, the force is the proper way. If things get too heavy, we've all been too busy, I'll notice when I check my disk usage, iut shows up there. If that happens, I'll post a note here on this forum. If no note arrived, but you have a few extra minutes, just pop back to the older posts and take care of a few. I actually delet a couple of silly empty threads sometimes if there's no good reason for keeping 'em. Use your judgement, but don't delete anything someone else might have really wanted to look at!

Jestah: imagine what it's been like with only 2-3 people around to do the archiving! talk about a bitch!

With all the new posts, I say anything that's been inactive more than a few days gets archived.
Anything about being bored at school...or sports scores..or that TV show...gets deleted (unless it sparks a good argumant where someone makes a big ass of themselves -- then we keep it around for posterity <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/wink.gif"> ).

I gotta ask...what happened to this forum? When I arrived 'bout an hour ago, it wasn't here.
