Topic: The search continues.....

Doc, is possible to modify the Asylum search engine to display hours in the select box? Because rarely an entire day goes by that I don't check into the Asylum, but I'd like to be able to search for 'All new posts in the 4 hours'.... is this even a good idea?

Nope.

Why not? Well...because. There's the 'today's active topics' link which I would think would be more than sufficient (in fact, it's how I enter the Asylum).

But, as taxon aptly posted.....why?

for example:

I leave my house at 8AM. Run some errands and meet my dad at his office for lunch at 12. Since I'm there, I'd like to sit down and see what's new in the last 4 hours..

same goes for school, my office, friend's house, booth at the mall, etc...

As DL-44 said, Click Here To View Today's Active Topics (all public forums) is the best option, IMHO.

Just seems a bit...much....to me.

kind of like driving your car down your 30 foot long driveway to get the mail to avoid the inconvenience of walking....

it seems rather foolish, in my opinion.

I'm guessing you are just looking to up the "chat factor" on a forum, correct?

not exactly.... more like I want to stay on top of my posts and new ones...
