Topic: Why is this thread closed? (Page 1 of 1)

This thread http://www.ozoneasylum.com/Forum17/HTML/000531.html in the Philosophy section is closed...why and by whom?

I can acertain no reason why the thread was closed...and unfortunately, I can't re-open it...

That's a good question, actually. I was wondering where that thread disappeared to...

It must have been a pesky thread closing gremlin. I've reopened it.

No idea why/who on the closing, but Webshaman - as a Mad Sci you *should* have been able to open it

At least there's no mystery as to who isn't helping archive threads, then. heh.

Uhhh...about Archiving threads...are there certain...criteria for that? I mean, how long should I wait until doing so? And threads that are closed...should they then be Archived immediately? Sorry for asking such...dumb questions, but nobody has really explained all this to me yet...and before I go and mess something up royally, just thought I'd ask...

Ok, basic breakdown -

If a thread is somewhow worthy of keeping around - good info, good links, good debate, even a good example of someone being an asshole, then archive it.

Generally, if it's been a couple weeks since a post to it, it can go.

If it's just a bunch of nonsense, or if it's one of those constantly repeated questions, or things like that, then there's no need to archive it...just delete it.

If it's closed, I'd say give it a day or two....seeing as we tend tio have threads opened/closed farily frequently.
