Topic: Problems with Morgan Ramsey

*Sigh* Morgan Ramsey has apparently lost all sense and reason, and is spamming the board with drivil. It probably all started here, in this thread, where I warned him about what he had posted.

After that, he began a regular 'post storm' with the following (now deleted) comments -

It's quite clear that you and the rest of you who have formerly condemned me are hypocrites of the very policies you preach. What was that about censorship and replacing posts with periods? Oh, yes that was me. That's censorship. That's also what you've done by deleting my posts, closing them, and dismissing them because I didn't use the fucking [quote] tag. What was that about being intolerant of opposing views? That was you. That's also called arrogance, potentially ignorant, hypocritical, and intolerant.

No MR, it's called doing my job. You see, your comments had nothing to do with the topics of the thread...nothing at all. And they were of a personal nature, designed to try to get a rise out of me (which failed, as you can plainly see - I didn't take any of it personally). I also saved all the deleted remarks (as you can also see, but under my name, so that you could not edit them out - yes, MR, one does learn, now...you will never again have the childish delight, of posting inane drivel and then erasing it, without the evidence being saved).

Personally, I don't care who/what/where you are, who you know, what your views are, or anything else for that matter. This is principally about doing the job set out for me. I do it the best that I can.

That's why I closed your thread...because BeeKay brought up a point, and your...reply was...well, I could quote it, but you know what it was. Others then questioned as to why you posted it. You gave no answer...so apparently, there was no real reason for the post (and no real topic). I then asked you to fix it...and gave you the chance. You basically gave me the same 'brush off' as BeeKay got...and lo and behold! I did what I said I would. I closed it. That was a logical conclusion. Had you of said, 'Oh, ok, I'll change that' - then there would have been no problem, whatsoever, IMHO (at least, in regards to doing my job). So, you bear the weight of responsibility here. Your actions decided the consequences.

As you can see (and your little posting spree really wasn't what I would call...well, what can one say about it? What the hell were you thinking, doing that?), the thread is open again. So if you had waited, or contacted me (or any other Mad Scientist, for that matter), I'm sure that you could also have achieved much the same without throwing a tantrum.

In conclusion, I in no way, shape, or form, personally and with intent, singled you out for some sort of private pleasure, or sport. I also in no way, shape, or form, did it out of maliciousness or spite. Rather, just my job, nothing more, nothing less. If I did not have these responsibilities, I wouldn't even have bothered posting in that thread - it contains nothing that I either don't already know, or am interested in.

Hey, here's an idea - Morgan, if you don't like it here, and you're so completely against everything that happens here, and you're going to say that won't post your views here because you don't like the way you are received, then DON'T COME HERE.

That's an *awfully* easy solution.

Either way, I've had enough of this kind of bullshit - from both of you quite frankly.

WS, your reactions to ramsay aren't much better than his initial reaction.

Now, Morgan, this is between you and WS. Keep it that way - either take it to email, or leave it the fuck alone.

I will personally close/delete any thread on I see on this topic because I'm sick to death of it. Don't like that? Think it somehow infringes on your 'rights'?

It's not a secret that I dislike DL-44. 'Why', exactly, is business between us, not ya'll. Most of what he says, I simply ignore. If he says something I take severe offense to, I'll email him about it.

So, in my possible first ever agreement with DL, I will also delete any post stemming from the infighting going on between Webshaman and Morgan Ramsay.

Your petty bickering is a torn in the side of this board, and I think I speak for many when I say I've had enough. I'm the first here to proport ANYTHING besides censorship, but you're not discussing anymore- you're spamming.

If it stayed in one thread, so be it. Two, I'd just ignore then, but you create bedlam in many threads I've seen today alone.

Take it to email- or get the fuck off our board.

Whoa...Whoa...Whoa. I have a question about all of this.

Let me preface this in saying I think all the Mad Sci's do a great a job moderating the board and I am not trying to tell anyone how to do their job. But I am kind of concerned about all of this closing threads and editing or removing peoples posts stuff. I thought we only edited a members post if it was truly offensive or "over-the-line." Like that idiot Outsider's racial slurs.

I personally don't believe that posts should be edited or threads closed just because somebody doesn't like the way the conversation is going or because some immature moron writes something stupid. That just doesn't seem to be in sync (and, no, not the boy band) with the spirit of this board, which I thought was the free exchange of ideas(even the stupid ones). When somebody gets out o' line another member like DL-44 comes in and says something like, well, what DL-44 just said. Then we move on. Usually the weight of majority opinion helps modify behavior.

It seems to worked in the past. Insider is almost an upstanding citizen now.

So, I guess I wondering what are the guidelines a for this closing/editing or are we going to subscribe to the Ashcroft-ian notion of "the rules are whatever I want them to be at the moment"?

Maybe we should start a thread called Sparring Partners, Rivals, The Time Out Room or Lunatic Cagematches and let people who have problems with one another hurl insults back and forth at each other. We could do it like the debates and even have a peanut gallery where the rest of us rate the insults.

Be that as it may, Morgan was also in the wrong to let loose on WebShaman in various threads. Although I didn't see them personally, I'll trust WS's better judgment in deleting those posts from said threads. Completely off-topic posts in random threads baiting a moderator are unnecessary (and in my opinion, unwelcome). I won't say one side was right and the other was wrong, because both have their points (granted one side has more good points, but I won't name names). However, I will say that this has gotten blown way out of proportion by both parties. The worst part is, it's not going to change. Morgan has not changed (this marks his fourth chance) one bit since the day he joined the FxZone as Demon, and WS is a very very persistent man. I personally feel the subject is best dropped by the rest of the community, and that they should take it to e-mail.

tiki: Funny as it may have been, I think I should explain a bit (as not to offend anybody) since I was rather vague I noticed they're generally against everything Morgan seems to stand for. I think he'd have a lot of fun giving them his take on things.

Here's an earth shattering idea:
