My thought has always been, like TP's, that if a thread is closed that should not have been, there are plenty of people around who can reopen it. Checks and balances. Doc was pretty smart to choose such a varied group to be his moderators. . . However, I think it is imperative that personal emotion not be the reason that a person chooses to close a thread. Getting in an argument, and then deciding that you don't wish to continue the argument is *not* an acceptable reason to close a thread, IMO. If you have the urge to close a thread based on such issues, then it is best to leave it be or refer it to someone else for a clearer perspective.
