Did you hear the one about the three white guys who walked into a bar dressed as mussolini?

UN-fucking-believable! I guess it must have been a take off on an early version of the family cuz I think Michael now officially qualifies as white doesn't he?

That is nuts. I could see someone complaining if they were 'blacking up' like the Black & White Minstrels but that seems silly. I'd better have a word with the assistant manager at my local as he was dressed as Blade last night

And NJ beat me to the joke

I really don't get what hte whole thing over all this anti-racism and PC stuff is. At things like this you'll get guys dressing up as girls, girls dressing up as guys, and nobody cares, I know plenty of comedy groups here in Australia which would be taken off the air if people did shit like this.

This is complete and total crap! People can't dress up as the Jackson 5 just because they aren't already black? Horse shit!

Believe it or not, Bugs, you may have found a thing on which we can agree!

I think I'm with Emperor here.
If the guys were deliberately playing up inappropriate racial stereotypes with the goal being to threaten or disrupt actual blacks at the party or in the street, well then, something should be done. (Not necessarily kick the frat off campus...maybe just kick the guys' collective asses?)

If the guys were playing the Jackson 5 without racial malice (and since there is no mention otherwise, I have to assume this is the way it was) the school administration is all wrong.

Instead of focusing on real issues (like how many black students get to go to that school...or the pay of their 'unskilled' labor positions...or working with underpriviledged kids from the local community...or...) they'd rather waste their time on meaningless crap.

Doing the right thing is good.
Doing the wrong thing is bad.
Doing what's easy in the name of what's right is the worst cowardice of all.

I don't get it. Isn't that what these guys were doing? Celebrating Africa's cultural, entertainment and educational contributions to non-African cultures around the world? Maybe they should investigate the university's role in this incident.... After all, they did encourage this sort of behavior.

Crabtree said the incident was "particularly distressing to the members of the (UT) administration because all fraternities and sororities participated in a workshop a year ago to address a similar situation at another institution."

It's all about pride. You see, the university already said they would not put up with this kind of stuff. Someone who knew that they said they would not put up with it complained, and then the university had to back up what it said.
