What can be more important that increasing the number of decimals in pi, since we allready had more than we will 'ever' need? Except that it is pretty fun in a wierd sort of way, this isn't important in any possible way |

Yeah, Webs is right, there are some very important reasons for this. For one, it is a way of testing out algorithms and computing power with a known constant. Second, it allows for advances in cryptography and random number theory. And the third is that, how do we know, somewhere along the line, we won't need this kind of accuracy? |
