I know this is a old subject from the news, but I was thinking about this, have any of you heard about this certain group that cloned a baby and their beliefs were that everyone was created by aliens? Can someone please explain why or how you can think you came from aliens? Does anybody here believe in this?

BiGCaC: You mean the Raelians - have a search at Google for them if you are interested (although take some big pinches of salt with you).

The Raelians would ask the same thing about those who believe we came from God. Why is it stranger to believe we were bred by an alien race than to believe the world was created in six days by God?

The idea that life on this planet came from another planet is not new at all. It's not out of the question either. I think it is entirely plausible.

I don't really believe in this, I just know all about it and, like Bugs says, you never know.

There are a couple different theories on this. They mainly stem from the fact they we are genetically modified monkeys. One theory states that we were genetically modified to mine the planet for mean aliens, so basically we are slaves. There is another theory that we were genetically modified so that we could learn to be high-tech and eventually spiritually advanced and work together with the aliens.

There is another theory that we, or rather our spirits, were living in another sort of body on Mars, and when Mars started changing, they send a few people to earth to have a look around. And they realized that the atmosphere was not suitable for them to live here, so they created this high-tech machine that implanted their spirits into the bodies of the monkeys. But unfortunatly, the monkeys were rather stupid, so the people forgot who they used to be. Thus, eventually when the human body has evolved far enough, and our brains are smart enough, we will remember who we once were, and all our knowledge will be reawakened.

Of course, this is all a bunch of b.s......or is it.....{creepy x-files music plays in the background}

Well I was just wondering about it, and I don't believe that god created earth in six days, but it is kinda weird that they think we are monkeys. They watch too much x-files!

i heard that aliens, who were clones of a lost race became advanced enough to clone other, like their original clonees, so they made humans - a modified version of themselves. we were not suitable for the planet they were on so they sent us to Earth. so we are basically modified clones of some other clones. sooo silly. haha.

Thank you bugimus. thank you.

You're absolutely right - both concepts are quite absurd =)

{{edit - ok, to be more precies, I think it is more believable that we were spawned or mutated by aliens than that we were created by 'god' though both concepts place *far* too much emphasis on the importance of our species - we're nothing, we're inconsequential. in the time frame of our planet, we'll be lucky to be a blip. in the time frame of our universe, our planet doesn't even stand the chance of being a blip. we are ants, but not as long-lasting...}}

I have to second DL on that one although he did say this:

quote:
I think it is more believable that we were spawned or mutated by aliens than that we were created by 'god'

While I agree that the former scenario is possibly more likely the odds for either option would be so long as to make haggling over which is more likely a rather pointless exercise

I have been wondering where one theory finishes and the other starts? Arthur C. Clarke said that "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" and any really extremely advanced alien species (esp. one that existed outside of time and space) would be technically indistinguishable from any hypothetical 'God'.

very true emperor - I just figured I'd throw my hat inthe alien side if I had to choose between the two

And yes, I have always held as at least plausible that aliens visited the earth thousands of years ago and were looked at as gods. it would make far more sense than for there to be a god sitting up there making such silly and arbitrary appearances and decisions

but that doesn't have anything to do with the *creation* of our species of course....

Yea, it seems pretty obvious to me that either all those people were hullicinating, or that Gods are aliens. But to me, that still does not discount the fact that there is a God/creator, I just don't think he has ever been here before, and I don't think he/she/it would have any desire to come here or to set up stupid ass rules for us to live by. OF course, I will never be sure.

Hmmm...

Well, maybe there are alien races that are helping the natural process of Life along...maybe.

We might do it, sometime in our future...we are already thinking of terra-forming Mars...so, 'seeding' other solar systems isn't all that far-fetched...

As for whether or not aliens sponsored Mankind specifically...I see no evidence of that. Though there is evidence of us being monitored...of that, most people don't have evidence of. I'm not going into the main of it. The government wants to keep this secret, who am I to say otherwise?

Though, if one is talking about possibilites...sure, it's possible...but then, so are a lot of other scenarios...conjecture is fun, surely. So maybe we were 'uplifted', by another species...David Brin, anyone?

What a coincidence I recieved the book "Bible code 1 +2" as a present. In one of the chapters it talks about the 'Bible code' as revealing that our DNA was brought in a vehicle. Apparently nobel laurete Francis Crick who discovered the structure of DNA comfirmed that he believes that. Also that our DNA was intended for another planet, but that the 'vehicle' our DNA was in crash landed on earth.

In the bible it says

quote:
And i saw, and behold, a tempest was coming from the north, a huge cloud and a flaming fire with a brightness around it; and from its midst it was like the color of the electric from the midst of the fire. And from its midst was the likeness of four living beings, and this is their appearance: they had the likness of a man.

So was this the clearest sighting of a spaceship in the bible?

Very interesting stuff............

if anything, I hold with the theory that earth is a very complex computer that was created by and is supervised white mice and that we humans are just a by-product of the evolution towards solving the answer. But sure, normal aliens is good too

i liked ruskis opinion that aliens are merely us from the future. it would make sense why they would not want to interact and change the future and would also suggest that time machines can exist in the future. A leading theory into why they couldnt exist in the future was that their would have been visitors from the future now and there was no reason to belive that at present there had been, that is until that little aliens are visitors from the future theory.
