..and while your at it can anyone tell me who or what defines ethical standards...? Is sit just mass public opinion?.. popular vote? ...the most persuasives talkers? ...money?

Because it seems that they keep moving the boundries everytime I turn my back. So there really is no right and wrong then? Everything is negoitiable. Juat a matter of time and all things are possible.

well, first of all... while *i* wouldn't have an abortion, i don't want to interfere with the choice of other women to have one. that being said, i quite honestly don't have a problem with them (the medical field) using parts from aborted fetuses. i think if some good can come from abortion...that's great! i really don't understand why people have any objections to this. the fetus was already aborted...to throw it in the garbage and *not* use what we could to help other people, is just a big waste!

we have a very close family friend that has huntington's chorea (it's similar to parkinson's) and if some part of an aborted fetus could help him in any way, i'd be all for it!

Don't want to get into the abortion side of it, just want to add this one point: what the fuck are doing trying to solve infertitlity problems?? There are too many people on this planet already...

How about we spend that time and money to take care of the people that here.....?

I don't have too many problems with this (although I wouldn't like to find out my dad was a sperm donor and my mother was an aborted foetus) but I think it is trying to ind a high tech solution to a problem which must have simpler solutions.

The problem is that there aren't enough eggs being donated but there is a broader issue of not enough organ donations and I think we would be better off applying our energies in the direction of opt-in donation laws, education (in the UK its not compulsory to discuss this kind of thing in school), etc.

We should also promote adoption more and look into the issue of the spare embryos after things like IVF.

It was not my intention to prod the abortion issue. I still find it hard to get my head around "new birth from an aborted fetus" concept. I must be old fashioned. With so many people on this planet is it really so hard to find voluntary living doners? Yes, and all those unwanted and unloved children everywhere. DL-44 has a point. Something just doesn't feel right about all this.

I personally don't agree with all those ethical modernists, Dr. Frankenstiens, little gods that have got their self importance and sense of freedom of choice way out of context.
