Well...a long time ago we had a big success with a conundrums thread...a great deal of fun.

Well...I think we need to revive some of the spirit of that (although nothing is ever as good as the original).

So, let's have another thread of those lovely little lateral thinking puzzles...what A and B did to C (for those who remember the first thread)...

So, to start us off, here's one that just involves A:

A is a businessman. He leaves for work every morning from his penthouse apartment on the 100th floor of his high-rise apartment block. He takes the elevator all the way down from floor 100 to the ground floor and, coat in hand, goes to earn his daily wage. When he comes home in the evening, after a hard day's work sitting behind his desk and yelling at people, he takes the elevator back up...but only to the 51st floor. He then gets out and takes the stairs the rest of the way up to the 100th floor...all 98 flights of them. He repeats this cycle, without fail or variance, every day...unless it happens to be raining that day, in which case he rides the elevator right up to the 100th floor. Why this variance?

Skaarjj: I think I know this one or a variant of it. The answer is that he works in the building - I did think he was the man who washed the windows but that is clearly another conundrum.

I'll give this one some more thought.

Oh, I heard this one. He's a dwarf, so he can't reach the "100" button.

Yeah, and when it's raining he uses his umbrella.

Yes... Two questions, one to be answered in the Photoshop forum. What is a condimundurm or however you spell it and 2: How'd you do your sig Ramsees? Thats neat.

Oy you rock Ozzy!

There were two mothers and two daughters walking on a beach. As they walk along they each pick up a single shell. When the get home they all put their shells up on the kitchen counter for display, yet there are only three shells. None were lost or broken. How is this possible.

There are only three people. One mother is the mother of the other mother and the grandmother of the other. Right?

[Translation: Person A is the mother of Person B. Person B is the mother of Person C. Therefore, there are two mothers, two daughters, but only 3 people.]
