So, what do you think?
Personally I see Jesus as an L.L. Bean or Eddie Bauer guy.

I dunno, I picture Jesus going through the trash and transforming it into really cool gifts. Definitely not a big spender... as thrifty as possible. After all, you know what they say: "Jesus saves."

Personally, it hurts me deeply to see Jesus dealt with in such a trivial way. But I understand that's not really Jesus in that picture and it is really a backlash for the WWJD stuff. I guess I'm just not in the mood for Jesus jokes right now.

Bugs, that's meant to be an attack on how retailers take advantage of a holiday to suck the money out of our pockets.
Nothing to do with Jesus really.

As a member of the little known ( but very active) group of Asylum Santa-ists, I must issue you this stern warning-
Be VERY careful in matters pertaining to the Jolly Old Elf, especially at this time of year. You know what you are risking.....that's right, the dreaded coal in your stocking. Take it from one who once suffered this fate, and for a much lesser case of naughtiness than drawing horns on Santa. If I recall the incident involved flavored cooking oil, several packs of Bubble Yum, and a very attractive nurse....
But the point is that naughty is naughty and we all know better. You would do well to remember that 'He knows when you've been sleeping, He knows when you're awake.... He knows when you've been bad or good... So be good for goodness sake.'
Rejoice-!! The time is close at hand for all believers to hear the pitter-patter of reindeer on their roof tops.

OK, I don't know what store it is, but here's a clip with Jesus is shopping for a Porsche.
And I've also found a page with things/brands/stores which Jesus edorses.

"jesus saves"
oh man that cracked me up Suho....
{{edit - Bugimus: I agree on the PC aspect, but you do have to remember that there are a whole lot of holidays at the same basic time of year as Christmas, and many of them predate christmas (and as I've pointed out before, even Christmas itself still holds a lot of the Pagan pre-christian traditions that were associated with that time of year for a large protion of early europe).
You can't expect people to only acknowledge your particular holiday simply because it's the one you think should be acknowledged.
I think this is another example of how Christian tradition has held the public forefront, and now that it might be getting pushed back a little in the interest of 'equality' (or, I don't know...pick a word...) it is looked at as somehow unfair, or not right....

I understand the "Holidays" terminology... I just can't stand how retailers have mangled the season. Everything I see these days is about spending hundreds of dollars on "The Toy" of the season which in just a few months will probably end up broken on the floor of a child's room.
It's sickening, the obligation that the holiday has become... I can hardly enjoy it.

DL: Always glad to be of service.
I know this might sound a bit weird, but I kind of miss the commercialism sometimes. Yeah, I understand where you all are coming from, and I felt the same way when I was in the States. Christmas in Korea is solely a religious holiday and I have to admit that it's a bit glum (that's a word, right?). I miss the Christmas music playing in every store, the decorations, the traffic, just the whole Christmas atmosphere. I know that not all of that is "commercialism," and a lot of it has to do with it being a family holiday, but both aspects play a big part. In Korea, Christmas is neither a big commercial holiday (although I think that might be changing very gradually) nor is it a family holiday, and it just depresses the crap out of me. You'd think I'd get over it after a while, but Christmas has stuck with me out of all the holidays.
I guess it's partly because it is celebrated, just not on the same level, so it acts as a reminder of what Christmas used to be like. Thanksgiving, on the other hand, isn't celebrated at all, so I don't miss it.
OK, I think I should stop now. I'd probably have a difficult time writing this if it weren't for the fact that my wife and I will be visiting the States this Christmas. My brother is back from the West Coast, so our family will all be together again for the first time in a while. I'm pretty psyched about that.
I don't know if what I said above makes any sense. It makes sense to me, at least.
