http://www.odci.gov/cia/public_affairs/press_release/2003/pr11282003.html

quote:
We judged that Iraq probably possessed one hundred to five hundred metric tons of CW munitions fill. One hundred metric tons would fit in a backyard swimming pool; five hundred could be hidden in a small warehouse.

errr..., I know some people might be a little skeptical of CIA Press Releases[smirk], however, I think this info is pertinent to discussions as of late. A bulldozer could clear a swimming pool sized area relatively quick. I can imagine that it would be almost damn near impossible to find a couple smaller 'boxes' hidden under the shifting sands of a desert. How hard would it be to conceal a metric ton?

And, given the incredibly small amounts needed for a chem/bio weapon to be lethal, would a metric ton still be enough reason for war?

I loved this:

My son has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and I understand the CIA will send him a letter of congratulations upon request?

Maybe I'm just an ageing cynic but I read:

Does the CIA spy on Americans? Does it keep a file on you?

By law, the CIA is specifically prohibited from collecting foreign intelligence concerning the domestic activities of US citizens. ...

... Collection is allowed only for an authorized intelligence purpose...

I guess that translates into an unequivocal "maybe"?

So...I guess that means I can finally drop my fears of the CIA setting up spy-cams in Argentina to keep track of what I'm doing at home....
