Due to my work in a little printshop (in need for an better wor d since we have no press but only some digital high quality laser printers ) i get a lot of questions from customers about the things they need to do to get their files printed right. So i was playing with the idea to write a tutorial about some basic things people should know before going to print. What do you think about such thing? And do you have suggestions about the content?

That sounds like an excellent Idea, one I was planning on myself thou I don't know when I will find the time as I have too many unfinished project as it is. I just found myself a new job and will need to concentrate on that right now as It is a complete new field.

Most of my experance is prepress for sheet fed and web offset and gravure presses. Along with production control. My technical degrees are in Color Seperation, and Print Production so I will likely try to cover color thoery and control issuse first.

I have worked very little with digital output beyound a few highend inkjet proofers and Imagesetters. Well, and of course desktop inkjets and lasers. So advice on prep for large format inkjet and Docucolor type output devices would be welcome.

i think that's a great idea. stuff like resolution (especially photo sizes in photoshop vs printable size), using photoshop with illustrator/quark/indesign for print, cmyk vs rgb, preparing files for your printer...soo much you could cover with this one.
