Decided to buy an external flash for my Sony yesterday. I was browsing around in a camera store here in Newport Beach and started talking to one of the salesguys about different stuff. I've been wanting an external flash for a while so I said what the hell?

It's pretty nice really. The top swivels and rotates to hit any angle above 90 degrees. It's got that front fill-flash and can do TTL metering once I read some more and figure that one out. It's got full auto or totally manual modes and a little calculator doohickey at the top. I got it for only $150. Not too bad and I figure it'll be a good starting point to see how these things work.

I took some test shots here in my hotel room and posted them over in last week's duotone challenge.

Wheeeee fun!

A wise move krets. Ya gotta be able to bounce a little fill off something to keep the shadows under control. Heh, I can't live without my little Photoflex Litedisks either, they're just too handy. Oh! You could probably get an off camera shoe cord as well, sometimes it's really nice to get the strobe away from the cam..

Sorry, highly cafienated today, I'll shut up now.

edit: I lied. The first pic you posted made me think of Harold Edgerton. You might say he had a thing for drops.
