Topic: Krets' advice = my gain

About a month ago I asked here for advice for a new digital camera.
Krets recommeded the Sony 707. I followed Krets' advice.
As it turned out, by benefactor (this camera was/is a gift) could not find the 707, so she bought instead the 717.
I got it earlier this month and have been playing with it on and off.
A fine camera it is, Matt; thanks for the advice.

It's great getting a new DC innit .....rusty cans eh?....I've been banned from taking my DC to friends houses nowadays, I just can't put it down. Happy days

Really clear photos there "mobrul". I just bought my second new DC. Being new to the whole DC world, my first one was a cheapo one, which did it's job, so I came up anothe few megapixels, and have graduated to 2.1, not much I know, but for someone who's growing with what I learn, it takes the photos I want for now, plus I don't have the cash to splurge on something awesome, now if I can just get my girlfriend to stop buying V Secret stuff and buy me a nice camera, hmm, that would be nice. Nahhh, never happen. LOL.

I really busted my ass for about 18 months helping a friend get her new business off the ground. Everything from building the pcs and wiring the lan to working the phones, sweeping the floor, building bookshelves, painting the walls...a lot of work.
She's my friend, and a very good one at that, so I expected no payment. Besides, she couldn't rightly afford to pay me as she was barely paying herself.
Now a quarter has come back with a profit, she has rewarded me with a wonderfully generous gift; one I never expected, but certainly won't turn down.

I haven't yet splurged on more memory than the factory 32Mb stick, though that and a nice tripod are on my 'to buy' list for the next 6 months or so.
All four were taken in jpeg mode at 640x480.
My favorite of the four is the bird.
S/He let me get VERY close. I have no idea why. My lens was literally about 8" from its beak. I managed to snap off about 6 picts before it flew away. Cool.
