Yep, that's the way a van breaks when it's overloaded. It's supported at the back by the rear wheelset, and at the front by the tractor, so the only place the floor can flex downward is between the two. When the whole thing starts to go, the sides and roof (which were partially supporting the structure) buckle, and suddenly the floor is the only thing holding at all. It gives out instantly.
