Topic: POW week 27: Reflection 9

reflection (it's the best i could come up with..)


A few guidelines:
1. Photo needs to go along with the subject in some way.
2. Use thumbnails for photos with any dimension larger than 450 px or over 40 kb.
3. Post as many as you want.
4. At the end of the week the person who chose the topic will pick someone to choose the next topic. This isn't a "winner," just someone who gets to suggest the next topic.
5. No critiques (unless requested) this is just to share our photos.
6. No sigs.

i was in the middle of typing on another page when somehow i hit 9 and return on this page..and couldnt edit the subject to take it out or delete the message to start over.

I was in a very old house being used for a club house on the lake right now. This was taken in a old scratched up bathroom mirror.

I used the new "average" blur filter in CS on the background. It negated the noise and flattened out the background nicely. Here's the before if anyone's interested.

love the boats, frank, but since you had it last week, i'm going to hand it over to lurch.

I dunno CYoung...there's now a jagged edge on the right hand side of the water drop at the top...I prefer the original quite frankly...it looks more...ummm...natural

Heh, my bad. You caught me with a careless (magic wand) selection. I kinda liked it better looking at the full size pic (3072x2048) because there was a lot of noise before the blur and it was a one-click kinda thing. I lost part of a flare up there too. Just playing with new things.. I'll get over it, the filter just averages the colors of the selected area and fills, not real sure why it's under the blur menu honestly. Doesn't seem to creep past the selection edge like a gaus blur either.

cyoung: I think the background in the altered pic is too uniform... did you just fill it with a single color? You might want to try going for a gradient to imitate the original lighting... just an idea. Very nice pic, though.
