The main reasons why you can't take good night sky pictures with this class of camera is because they only allow for the shutter to be open for about 2 seconds and they don't have a good enough zoom to get a small enough piece of the sky in an image. As for a picture of your screen. Here is one that I took using auto mode, with the flash turned off. It would have been much cleared if I had used a tripod (which I don't have).
