Ok, put on your warm clothes and get cracking

A few guidelines:
1. Photo needs to go along with the subject in some way.
2. Use thumbnails for photos with any dimension larger than 450 px or over 40 kb.
3. Post as many as you want.
4. At the end of the week the person who chose the topic will pick someone to choose the next topic. This isn't a "winner," just someone who gets to suggest the next topic.
5. No critiques (unless requested) this is just to share our photos.
6. Sigs allowed as long as they're kickin'.

No chance of me posting this week; we reckon anything below 20 Centigrade is cold and it rates a headline in the
paper when the mercury plummets to 16!!

[ be nice if someone posted a snowman though; long time, no see!]

WOW cyoung! Mad props on that 'frost' shot... is it merely a close up of a successfully frosted window, or were there skills and technique involved in achieving the pattern? Please share. Also very curious about the black snow on the first shot... looks more like sand to me, but if u say its snow - it's snow.... just very curious how you achieved it : )

asptamer- Thanks. The frost pattern was courtesy of mother nature. The photo was taken looking out a north facing window in the morning. The blue color is from the sky and the browns are from the winter grass. As I recall I had to angle the cam down somewhat to get the blue from the sky which made a tripod mandatory since I needed a long exposure to keep everything sharp that close. Snow ~does~ look like sand if you look closely. Moreso when it's really cold. The warm tone throws people off I think, but I liked it better warm than cool so I gave it the sepia. The shot was just a good exposure shot directly toward the sun more or less. Levels, curves, sharpen, desaturate, sepia.. yup, that sums it up.

CRO8- thanks too.

I highly recommend it and make sure you see Bryce canyon which is real close to Zion. Absolutely gorgeous country.
