I was afraid that perhaps my budget would rule out the possibility of an SLR at this point in the game. I hadn't even thought about "hidden expenses." That's a great link there. I'll definitely be spending a lot of time there doing some research before I go out shopping this weekend. Prices here in Korea will be different, of course, but it should at least give me an idea of what to look for. I definitely want something that allows me to do everything manually... I'm getting a bit tired of using automatic cameras. Again, thanks for the all the advice. [Edit: Oh, I almost forgot... krets, you mentioned looking for a camera with a nice lens.
