You can turn off the password thing yourself. There's a link to change your options at the top of each forum... I think it says "profile" or something like that. You can turn off the password saving thing.
It might have been me who changed it, though. I remember changing a post earlier that had a lot of gibberish inside of -script- tags, and all it seemed to be doing was stretching the table horizontally. I just entered some spaces to fix the problem, since it didnt seem to be doing anything anyway. Hope I didn't mess anything up.
------------------ |

Hey Slime....
Is that you going around deleting posts? I'm not sure how I feel about that, especially since it was a harmless quip:
"slime spelled differently could be "miles" or "limes" or "elims", whatever the heck that means".....
------------------ |

Did someone delete that post? The only post I've ever changed is the one I mentioned above. I haven't deleted any. I remember that post - is it not there anymore? I'll check...
------------------ |

Scratch that; I can't remember where it was. I promise that I didn't delete it, though... in fact, I think I posted a reply to it. hmmm...
------------------ |

Hmm? I haven't deleted any posts either, not even ones I didn't like, like the advertising woman from some time back. An ethic-kind of thing, I guess. I *have* lost a few posts, though! Geez, there are a lot of posts here, I get lost a lot. Maybe I should consider archiving some of the older dead-letter posts? Maybe not. Feedback on this would be appreciated.
The password thing, that would seem to indicate that someone you live with or who has access to your computer is changing your posts, not at this end. Disable it at the preference settings if you're on an insecure system.
Your pal, -doc- |

Hey Slime...it's cool buddy. I didn't mean to get hot, but it did get deleted. Perhaps it was the bad karma I put off on rend when I attempted to force him to give me the camel sushi platter recipe coming back to haunt me....
Or was it the the time I sacrificed the camel instead of the peanut by accident...no REALLY it was! heheheheh
Later man ;-)
------------------ |

I think archiving some of the older posts would be good. I certainly wouldn't delete anyone's post -- screw with them and cause trouble like leprechauns, sure, but not deleting... : ) |

I think the Docs answered that one DL-44, I notice we have some archives. I agree with archiving stuff, also anyone deleting posts needs severe rapping of the knuckles.
BTW Slime, you deleted zilch. I think I remember the post you're talking about, and I'm pretty sure you only edited it. |

It's not like we're talking credit card numbers or bank accounts here...just some chit-chat. All you have to do is set your preferences to not store cookies -- OR if you're truly concerned with someone else using your computer to screw with your stuff, set up your computer's built in security features. : ) |

Yah, I'm sorry preetham, I have to agree with DL-44 here, the problem with security is kinda there, but really not that all bad. If your computer isn't secure, please, don't ever tell it to save passwords. I'll set the preferences to not have that option checked, though. You *do* get logged out as soon as you leave the site, though, the cookies should be gone after you leave.
|

what a surprise, i agree with everyone else, as long as you did not post "the meaning of life", it was just a rare mistake in the system. Whether it be the forum or someone screwing with you, its not all that bad.
hmmm, would I really want to know the meaning of life?!?.............. |
