hi all, im new to this forum, although i have been knocking up websites for a while - nothing to strenous mind, but i am in the middle of finally setting up my OWN personal site, and it has to be a knockout.. i have decided that i like blacks, light blues and yellows...perhaps some orange.. could anyone suggest a colour scheme to suit?... i cant decide for myself!!!

Hmmmm...I'd suggest black or another dark colour for your background, that way it doesn't hurt the eyes, and a colour that is it's complete contrast, or at least fairly light in colour, but not to bright or intense, cause that will make the eyes hurt to. then use a set of similar, but still decernably different colours for your new hyperlinks, visited hyperlinks and active hyper links, and make sure they offset your background, so they are immediatly noticable.

An example of a colour scheme like this one is Doc's here in the forum. Have a look at the colours. They are immediatly noticable, and they are subtle without being muted. Above all they don't hurt the eyes to look at to long.
