Change the mode from RGB to Indexed Color, and save it as a transparent GIF89a with that grey (115,115,115) selected as transparent, and you can now paste it into a web page, it will seam flawlessly with the "bulkheadbkg.gif" background.

Maybe anyone could explain me which settings I need to set in the Indexed Color Dialog and how I select that grey (155,155,155) as the transparent colour?

Oohh-Kay! That's no longer an easy question to answer, what with the multitide of versions of Photoshop out there. Give me a bit of background, which version are you using?

In it's most basic form, you need to specify a grey, and it should be 115,115,115. in the newer vesions of photoshop you can specify this as a haxidecimal value, as "999999" (same thing). You can get here by clicking on the grey swatch in the manu bar to check that you are using the correct gray. You should also watch the "info" pallette, it will give you accurate information about the color values you are mousing over, check it out, you'll see it works. Get back to me, let me know how you're doing.

Oops, forgotten my version of photoshop.
I'm currently using Photoshop 5.5.

I didn't find out yet how to make the grey to be the transparent colour.

Thanks for the quick reply <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif">

The easiest way to handle this is probably to use the "Export/Gif89A" module. You'll find to Export choice under the "File" menu header. This module insists you change the color mode to "Indexed" first, but if you have done this you get a rough thumbnail of your image, and your cursor will become an eyedropper. Click the eyedropper on the grey background and it's gone.

I like the Xenofex filter the most.

What is your favourite?
BTW Made myself a logo, in just a couple of minutes, so this is only filter-work. But I'll enhance it asap.

::ducks as he sees the age old question Filters V. No Filters comming::

The majority of us here don't really use filters but I know a few people in the community use KPT6 for that shapeshifter thingy. Has some nice effects. Im not overlly sure what Xenofex but Im sure its the same as must filter packages.

I just loooooooooooove the Television thingy as you can 'interlace' the drawing with small lines, as you can see in my logo.

Also the nice fluffy clouds filter is really cool! (Also used on my logo)

Actually I'd be suprised if "majority of us here didn't really use filters". That's what they're there for after all. Maybe Jestah meant "not by themselves to create an obvious 'canned' filter effect" but if you're not using anything under the filter menu, you're a PS handicapper.

What he means by 'Using them on the way to something else' is also the way I use them. I created a technique for making a rocky type of texture, that uses the difference clouds filter in a alpha channel to create a displacement mapto make the texture look like really rough rock.

Filters are good, but like alcohol, they are only good in moderation.
