Yah, I've seen that, but I don't think it's available with this version of the board, I would need to upgrade to 5.47, which is going to be a PAIN, I'll need to recreate all of the hacks I've done here already, yuck. I will upgrade before I lose my chance to do so, but I doubt I'll make it a priority just for this one feature. It's on my list, though! |

The "Last Person To Post" is a simple little hack, actually. I did it on the gurus network site, and I've got it on the new 5.47c version I'm hacking for gurus network. It's kinda nice. The one hack I REALLY like is the UBB code buttons. I've done that on 5.47c - VERY cool. Full formatting for your messages. |

Yea, that would deffinatly be cool. Also, what about sending messages to each other? I've seen that before. I think a cool feature would be "Sexiest Online Now" when Im online my picture would naturally be up and when Im not someone elses ... |

Yeah, I've wondered why forums don't have a feature that you can send a message to someone, the server will store the message, and the next time that person loads *any* forum-related page (a thread, a reply, a thread list, etc) the messages that have been sent to them appear at the top of the page, with an option to reply to it. That'd be cool. Sorta like instant messenging. YaBB has a feature that's almost like this, actually. |

That sounds like what Napster has... while surfing you can send a message to someone and talk. |

I don't think a private message is needed on a forum.... I do think something listing the last person to post would be nice but not a necessity. Just so my earlier post didn't make it sound like I was wanting one |

The convenience of the forum-based instant messaging is that you don't need a separate window open to chat in, whether for ICQ, AIM, or a Java chat. Of course, one should be allowed to specify whether or not they want to be allowed to be interrupted with the messages. But, you're right, it's definitely not necessary. Just cool. =) |

Actually, we could always follow the Microsoft "All in one" strategy, if we add enough features we won't need any other program, at all! (OK; maybe we'll still need photoshop, at least until we can craft a Java applet to insert it into the forum!) Hmm, lessee, we need a full-function word processor, right? May as well make it into an HTML editór as well, Mr. Max, wanna get to work on that? What else should be worked into this thing? I could use a calendar and alarm clock combo, and I'm already at work on the telephone answering machine as we speak! Volunteers? |

OK, check out this one site I used to work on, still consult with the owners from time to time. The site is http://www.Runaware.com/ and what they do is software evaluation over the internet, using the tarantella app from SCOC to allow you to run a windows app from their servers in a java app on your browser. Cool stuff, if buggy from time to time. (I'm going to call Pelle and bitch about the regista´ration process, way broke, grr!) |

aaah the ubb hacks! well better know what you are doing if you're adding hacks, cause you can totally screw up your ubb-board. i had set up an ubb-board up too, somewhere in the past and i added quite some hacks too, but in the end i screwed up I couldn't edit messages again. If you want to hack something, always make backups... from every new hack you added. I made that mistake, i backed up over the old backup when everything seemed to be ok. |
