...bringing this topic up, because I really need the answer ASAP (I don't want to destroy my Windows 2000 with wrong drivers). |

OK; it is installed on Windows 2000. The driver? Well, it was either v5.3 or v4.1 or v2.1 BUT! Don't do anything until I check, OK? The parallel port devices don't get auto-detected the way they should, so after I installed this piece, it then FAILED, (windows told me so!) but strangely enough the camera worked after that, and continues to work. I went through driver hell getting this thing set up, installing about 8 drivers to get this baby going, it was a pain. I'm diggin away to get this info for ya, I'll have it today, promise. |

OK, Mr. Max! We've gone through the systems, and the driver for the Color Quickcam 2 is.. (drum roll!) version 2.11! Yes, it's version 2.11NT that you need, (there is no version officially for W2K, and even the NT version is difficult to locate!) Now, Logitech, being the advanced kind of company they are doesn't link this driver anywhere from their website, you can download an updater, but it would only work if you had the driver pre-installed from the CD. Now, I had to contact international tech support to get a copy of the disk mailed to me, so I have this CD, which you *will* need if you don't have the original CD that came with the cam. I have the file here that I could mail to you, it's only 2.2MB, so drop me a note and I'll mail it to you, OK? |

Hmm, I have the original CD and I also downloaded the updater, but I really don't want to install none of this because it conatins a lot of 16-bit code... Anyway, if that 2.2mb file is written especially for NT and if it's the only thing that I'll have to install, then please send it to mister(at)max.co.yu, thanks! |

It's on it's way to you! Hope this works out, I included instructions of what broken messages to expect from windows. The camera still works, but I'll never convince Windows 2000 of that, heh heh. |

Doc, muchos gracias! My QuickCam is working fine now, but instead of reporting an error (like it does on your computer), on every startup Windows finds new hardware (camera) and asks for drivers, heh Nevertheless, this camera thingy is a great fun... |

Well, I bought myine in Swedish kronors, but it averaged about $100+, maybe twice of the little quickcam web. The quality on the quickcam web was *really* bad, I would avoid it if you can. Funny about that "ask for drivers" thing, ours used to do that, and we can't for the life of us figure out why it decided to stop, I really can't remember why or when it stopped. Thinking back on it, it may have been when we also installed the drivers for the USB cam in order to run two cams on that machine, hard to say. |

Oh, I believe that! Living anywhere close to 8 hours one way or the other, you get into some weird, hard to reconcile time crunches. Try on the weekends, I'm here more often. Perhaps I should have regularly schdeuled "shows"? Perhaps I should look into using Swatches "internet time" to avoid confusions, heh. |
