Slime, this is more your stuff but if anyone else is fairly good in physics:

An unbalanced force of 2 Newtons acts on a 3 kg object for 6 seconds. The magnitude of the object's change in velocity is ______.

I need the answer and explanation ... physics isnt my subject. Its about 2 something here in the States and me and my friend Justin is up cramming for the midterm tomorrow ...

Thanks

ok, here's the formula:
P=mv=ft.
(rougly anyway.) i think it should be deltaP=deltaMV=Ft, but hey.
where:
P=momentum
m = mass
v = velocity
F = force
t = time

thus.... Ft = mv where F=2 m=3 t=6
therefore 2 x 6 = 3 x v
v = 4
...well.... its been a year or two, so i could be wrong, but that looks pretty convincing to me.
i hope there was enough explanation for you!
--FWIW, Ft is actually impulse, i.e. change in momentum. if initial momentum=0, then its all cool.
um, im in australia, so you may have to change the currency, drive on the other side of the road, go from metric to imperial, flush in the opposite direction of rotation, and be a tad more arrogant ( ), but its more or less the same, i assume.
