Ive been making web-sites for myself for about 5 months now. And everytime I do make something, I always get an idea to create another one, with a brand new look and content. So, ive stopped doing this, (BeCuZ iT tOoK tOo mUcH TiMe) and now i want to make a new site...a final site. Im not sure what im going to call it, but ive been workin on brand new art for it and alot of new content. I want a site that has an easy layout, extremely easy to update, and manage. I want to create it, so that, when i need to update, all i have to modify, is my html...and not have to mess with all my .fLa files. *aRg* does anyone have any good links that i can look at? or does anybody themselves, have some html design that can get my brain in thought process?

I suggest you go and purchase an HTML Book. One that also covers things like CSS and the W3C recommended DOM. XML and XHTML might be worth a too, but I don't think their fully supported yet.

Check out This Site for some nice CSS tutes

Edit: Buggered the link, t'was fun though..

I think you should:

Once you know some HTML basics, take a walk through the entire Asylum web ring. There's a link to it at the bottom of the page and it looks like this When you get to sites you like, do a "view source" and study their HTML code. That is a *great* way to learn.

When you have questions, read your HTML book or go to the site Dracussis mentioned. There are also some good tutes over at http://www.gurusnetwork.com/

When all else fails, come here and we'll be happy to help you as long as you are willing to do the footwork.

Hey O_Boi! OK, I hear your plea, and it sounds like an issue we've addressed in the Server-side forum, search the forum for the string "XSSI". I use SSI (server side includes) in al of my sites now, where I create a template for the top and bottom, and then just insert a bunch of text and/or images in between. Mucking with a shitload of code is not necessary, not every day, if I want to change the look of my entire site I can change one or two files, it's a possible thing for you, and really not that high tech, no wizardry needed, just some basic scripts. Someone wanna follow up with some link for this? 'Preciate it.
