My current one is starting to squeak and I'm thinking I'll replace it before it fails on me. Anyone have any recommendations?

backup your files as soon as possible!

and then i'd go with a drive from the IBM 60GXP series.

I personally recommend MAXTOR hard drives...

Especially take a look at new models (feat. Ultra ATA 133 protocol) entitled D540X & D740X...

I'm afraid that my last corruption problems where caused because of my Maxtor drive...

I prefare Seagate or WDD

I'll give my input a bit late...anything BUT Western Digital. Out of about 6 I have had 4 have gone 'thumper' on me. For reliability I still have a quantum fireball 6.4 gig I got in 97 running solid without any problems ever. Seagate is pretty decent too.
