Preserved Topic: Font Editor

I'm not too sure where to put this, doesn't really deal with Photoshop. Anyway I've been searching all over cnet and I can't find a font editor. I find all of these font manager, but no editors. Does anyone have a specific name that I could search for?

Macromedia's Fontographer (http://www.macromedia.com/software/fontographer) and Font Lab (http://www.Fontlab.com) are the two most respected in the industry. If you're looking for something but don't want to spend $500 and don't need all the features of these two, you could try Font Lab's TypeTool (http://www.fontlab.com/html/typetool.html) which is a cut down version of Font Lab that sells for $99 and is also very good. Another pretty good font editor is High Logic's Font Creator (http://www.high-logic.com) which sells for about $50.

A while ago I ran across the shareware software Softy ($25 or £15) but never tried it:

I suspect it all depends on what you want to use it for and how much you are prepared to pay (don't some of the 'vector' based graphics packages do this as well? I've been playing with CorelDRAW and I think I ran across something about creating fonts in that - I'm not sure).

Yes, CorelDRAW can also make fonts, but it's much easier to do with "real" font editor...
