I will be leaving Sunday morning and not have access to a computer for about 5 days, hopefully my game will be finished by then. It'd be great if someone wanted to wait for me and start a game then, but I understand if nobody does. |

Whoah, sorry about missing the discussion, I've been busy on a client gig. (Still have work to do but this is a long weekend, good old JC did something special 50 days ago, yay!) Hmm, I would like to keep the points for that game, I did earn them. I've seen tournaments won by people who entered 2 games late, they just start with no points, of course, it's possible, and there's precedence. I notice that Stan has a "make your own tourney" function, with automated rules and forfeits for delayed games, maybe we should look into that next time around? |

Hah! I played my first dozen moves with Sash while also writing as big presentation for the next day, how stupid was that? Anyone who really wants to watch me get my ass kicked had better follow this link. If I wasn't such a stubborn bastard I'd probably tip right around now, but I'l have to see if I can come up with *any* surprises here! |
Maniac (V) Mad Scientist From: Happy Hunting Grounds... |
posted 05-27-2002 13:39
Whoaha! Ok, but my mistake was 'accidental'...I was examining the board, didn't realize that I had the king outlined, tried to move my rook (thought it was my rook) and accidentally moved my king, instead. Stuuuupid!!!! *begins kicking self again* Dammit! Wish there was a 'redo move' key, to fix such probs...oh well, on with the game...*continues to kick self* |

Ouch! OK Webshaman, you take the prize for that one, I can't top that! When I played with benev the first time, he moved his knight out, and then back to where it came from, hmm. I decided to do the same thing to keep the game even! Maybe WJ can do something similar? He could move his King out and you could glare at each other, then you take turns moving back where you were. (Hmm, no optin for castling that way, though. Bummer, you be screwed!) |
Maniac (V) Mad Scientist From: Happy Hunting Grounds... |
posted 05-27-2002 14:26
Thanks Doc (yup I be screwed...)...no, it was my mistake, I'll just have to live with it...the game goes on! If I actually manage to win the game (and WJ is really giving me a run for my money...), it'll just be sweeter...and if I lose, I can always say 'well, if I had just done that differently...' |

The site webmaster, Stan, is real cool about setting moves back provided both players are in agreement. So, if ya want, you and your opponent can send emails to Stan asking for the game to be set back to a certain move. He will usually do it for ya without a problem. I know how frustrating accidental moves can be ... made more than my fair share ... |

Well, after thinking about it for awhile, I decided to let the move stand...in tournament chess, once the piece is touched, it must be moved...so even though it was accidental, the move stands...time to take my medicine...so it's your move WJ. Come and get me, baby! |

ANYways, I finished up a very delicate and difficult price quote last night, and then quick wuick before bed I glanced at the board and then moved, after delaying for 2 days nearly. D'oh!
