Whoops, I hate it when these threads get big and I'm not paying attention.

Let's see... I'm 18, male, from around Boston, MA, going to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY when it's not the summer.

I'm single and looking! Which is sort of pointless to say since there are about three girls in this entire forum and the youngest of them is eight years older than me, sigh =)

I have at least one picture somewhere, but I'm not entirely comfortable showing it =)

All those threads are two years old? I seem to remember going through this twice since I've gotten here (although without the pictures...). In fact, one of them was only two months ago--I remember because I posted on my birthday.

Anyway...

Age: Child of the 80s
Ancestry: 25% German, 25% Ukrainian, 12.5% English, 12.5% Dutch, 12.5% French (aarrggh!), 12.5% Iroquois. If it weren't for a twist of fate I would be a member of the Drake family (Sir Francis Drake), but I got stuck with a bastardized French name.
Nationality: 100% American
Residence: about an hour's drive south of a nation that wants to invade us
Occupation: grad student, translator, inmate
Children: none yet, but my wife says we don't need any as long as I'm around; I wonder what that's supposed to mean...
Photo: none yet; for some reason I just don't like having my picture taken. I have been told that I look like Jesus, though, which may just mean Emperor is the evil version of me ;-) (or maybe it's the other way around).

Well, that should do it for this time around. I guess the next thread should come along in a month or so.

Hmm? Is it time for one of these threads again? I'm going to make a poiunt of posting pix of myself in the FAQ, that'd make sense. Mikey! Is that really you? Seems to me I saw another pic with more piercings and such, you look downright normal in that one! <g>

I just turned 44. I live in Stockholm Sweden. I was born in New Jersey, lived in nearly every other state (excpet for Hawaii, I avoid places with nice weather for some godforsaken reason), and spent the last 10 years before moving out here in Minnesota. I have a girlfriend named Malin who I love very much. We have 2 cats, Jpeg and Adobe. They have their own websites, of course! This seems like a good opportunity to show off my old C2X2 profile, at http://www.ozones.com/whoami/ozone/ for now, heh.

Hey, WS, you were a warehouse packer? My original fallback job was as a warehouse *picker*. Hah! I flaunt my (arguably) minor status gain at you, hah hah! ;-) (For those of you who are unfamiliar with the specialized world of warehouse workers, pickers picks orders and packers pack them. I'm unsure why, but once upon a time the difference seemed very important to me!)

Yeah Doc, but I did both jobs...but started out as a 'packer'. Just getting 'picky' with packing...hehe...

Actually, it's a lot of work, packing under time-stress...not only do you have to know where everything is in a huge warehouse (we had over 2000 different 'brands' and products...), but you also have to select the best route according to the things on the list (my lists always had hundreds, sometimes thousands of things to pack...working in the refreshment business...) and then also trying to keep everything error free...and of course, it does take a whole lot of body strength to handle all of those crates...*shrugs shoulders* Just a job...but I did it very well...in fact, I was the best packer there...quick, error- free...I packed an average of over 3000 crates a day...and more when we worked overtime (which was almost all the time...)

Glad I'm working in a deskjob these days...but I paid my dues...

cfb: Yeah, I think everyone thought that at one time or another. Probably something to do with the location.

Nope, I'm probably more American than many people you'll meet in the States, which is probably something only other ex-pats will understand. At the same time, though, my Korean friends all say they think of me more as Korean than American. It's kind of difficult to explain, I suppose, and it's definitely something I can't explain in a brief post. Then again, this is probably far more than you wanted in response anyway...
