Great work - I've moved it so that it is under the Tutorials: Photoshop node as it makes more sense there (I think - if it would make more sense elsewhere I can move it there). We can also host the graphics locally if your OK with that. |

Yea, hosting the screen shots locally would be good , I think. They`re all red Xs to me... |

okies go ahead and host them locally no problems with that here, will recheck the permissions on them on my server, thought i had changed them all, by default my server is set up to deny access to images unless i add the inetrnet guest account to each one will check now. |

Just thought I'd point out that you get some problems with then when a user can set custom colour tempratures for their monitor using the monitors OSD. But seeing it's aimed at people who don't touch their monitors colour settings out of the box then it should be fine. |

Drac Thanks, i was going to do the osd part but as some people havent got osd's i thought i would leave it out on this tutorial, as for colour depth i know what you mean, i always run at 32bit true colour but when i am working on gifs etc i personally drop down to 256 or use the web safe pallet which only allows you to use those colours which can be displayed on macs and pc's. one thing i forgot to point out is that macs and pc screens are different and it is very hard to get an image to look right on both, the more i think about this tutorial the more i think i could add for example calibrating for CMYK print work etc. but at the moment i havent got much time i have a pong game that is hanging round that i havent had chance to return on yet . amd work is starting to pile up, so if there is anyone that really understands this topic and wants to add to it please feel free to add to the FAQ... |
