You know what torq's me? Downloading a professed free font and reading "we want $25 bucks if you want it for commercial use" in the text file. Don't even call it free than. Call it shareware. I guess rather I shoud say "free" or "really free".

right!?

Anyway, if anyone has any good font links for "really free" fonts, that would be cool.

Wadda ya think?

I think if you're making money off of someone's font design work, then it makes sense that they'd get a tiny stipend for doing the work in the first place.

I also think there's a plethora of children working in design that wouldn't know the meaning of the word professional if it shoved a spiked mace up their arses.

But then that's just what I think.

There are some links to font sites in the FAQ: http://faq.ozoneasylum.com/68/

Don't know if they are all really free though.

Here is a site I had bookmarked:
http://www.larabiefonts.com/index.html

"free for commercial use" All created by the same guy, and he accepts donations if you like the fonts.

my problem isn't that they're charging for it, if they do it up front and not lable it as free. In fact I won't use a font commercially without paying for it (or software for that matter). If it is not free for commercial use, specify before the download not after in a secret textfile.

Case in point: LABLE IT SHAREWARE or you could be misleading.

Free means free. I guess its symantics...

here take this, its free, yours to have, BUT...
