Preserved Topic: Strange WinXP Mouse Happennings

Ok...here's my problem. Sotting here in XP, in Internet Destroyer, and surfing ,everything's going fine until I realise that if I leave my mouse cursor still for more than one second (and yes...I timed it), it dissapears. It reappears if I move my mouse, but this is really starting to get annoying. Any ideas?

Mouse cursor can disappear when currently active application (IE in your case) is busy doing something CPU intensive. This can happen if you're viewing web site that requires plug-ins or Java. Usually, a computer restart will fix this.

BTW This can also happen in other applications, besides IE.

nope...it's not that...all I have open is the Asylum...but thanks anyway Max.

Umm...I know this kind of thing happens when you start typing, but IE acts as if the cursor is still there, just invisible...

Well, some application is probably responsible for that (it doesn't need to be IE). I've experienced this a few times myself, while I was waiting for one application to terminate (that stopped responding), so it must be related to CPU usage / general computer load. Did you try restarting?

Also, if you have a Logitech mouse, insure that you have the latest MouseWare drivers installed...

like I guess you have already updated your:
1) Mouse Driver
2) Video Driver
3) IE with whatever patches MS has this week.

So, as you have already done that... Do you have any other input divice that you could use to test this problem out with? Like a Wacom tablet, or a Logitec Mouse using their drivers.
