Ok, here is my dilema =) I have a duel boot system. Windows2000 and Mandrake Linux. The system has 3 partitions. 1 for windows, 1 for linux, and 1 for linux's swap. I got WindowsXP the other day and when it asked which partition to used I selected the windows one. All went very smoothly untill I rebooted. Apparently windows xp didn't overwrite windows2000, it set itself up on the same partiton next to it! This was a blessing in disguise because I don't have to copy all my files I had in the my documets folder from the backup CDs I made, I can just move them to the place where XP keeps 'em. But now how do I uninstall Windows2000 without uninstalling XP. I would prefer not to reformat and use all them backup CDs as well since I've already got XP goin' pretty nice and I hate to do the same things over and over again. |

Couldn't you just run setup.exe from the win2k cd? That should give you an option to uninstall Windows, but I'm not sure if it'd affect winXP.. Alteratively, I think you could just boot from the win2k cd to uninstall it.. |
