i debated posting the same things CP... however...
you're pointing to an image.
HZR is staking a claim to being a genius in the matters of coming up with optical illusions..
...just showing that this particular one can almost be recreated in CSS. Which I found "somwhat" (and i use that term loosely) interesting.

Anyway..
HZR... although this has some interesting qualities...
the fact that only a very tiny portion of those two areas matches up, kinda makes this boring... and mmm.... "broken" (for lack of a better term).

It's kinda like saying...
Here's this apple...... it's almost a perfect sphere.
So we all look at the apple and agree it has some qualities of a sphere.... but it's *not quite* there.

Well, as I understand that I am pointing to an image, this is not unlike what happend in the PS forum when InSiDeR drew a picture. That pic was later to be found somewhere else.

Now InSiDeR didn't RIP the picture, but he "implied" a laid claim to it. Coming up with the idea and concept if you will. This was brought to his attention.

Same here.

Point taken.

But, the instance with InSiDeR was severely different in that the image that he used as a refrence was not posted here before.
The link that you posted above was posted in another thread on this very forum not all that long ago.
Mebbe a month or two.
So I think it'd be fresh in enough people's minds that the intent to pass off as one's own work..... most likely wouldn't work.

However... like I said..
I see your point.

I simply deducted in my mind that the idea was most likely taken as a result of the original thread... and he spent some time going back and working over that idea... but with CSS.

I also assumed that HZR was merely demonstrating that he had managed to recreate the image (most of us had already) seen in CSS. Possibly a little explanation might have avoided any misunderstanding but its not a big issue.

HZR: Nice effect though

Oh, sorry about that. The idea was taken from the image you pointed out CPrompt. I should have said that.

Yea, agree. It wasn't possible to do it perfect with the filter which I thought at first.
And yes, only two tiny portions of those areas matches, but they're at least fairly near.

No hard feelings, eigh? Was just pointing it out.

It was good work on HZR's part to recreate the image using CSS. I don't think that he ment any harm, nor was I trying to point out a "RIP". In reference if makes it a little more . . . whatever. Can't think of what I am trying to say.

Again, good work on HZR's part to recreate the image.
