According to the BBC, The Gaurdian and CNN baghdad has fallen into hands off the US forces and thus the war is over. |

So, having watched the statue of Saddam being pulled down this morning "W" called his father and said "...its in the bag, Dad". =) |

The war ain't over bud. We still have a lot of Baghdad to secure and there is still the issue of the north. |

Xpirex, I was there the first time...that was enough for me. I just hope the battles to the North are finished quickly, with a minimum of casualties. |

For the record, Xpirex, when Emps said "we have been following the war," he meant "we have been keeping track of what's going on in the war," not "we've been tagging along behind the soldiers as they rolled into Baghdad." |

Suho: I hadn't noticed what Emps wrote (I started filtering out his posts after the 4000th ), but I had assumed it was in reply to SPyX's comment. I've been known to be wrong though. Very often. |

It was poor timing, but I think he was responding to "We still have a lot of Baghdad to secure and there is still the issue of the north." by SPyX. |

Wherever there is anarchy and destruction you will always find the 1 Sandwhich Short of a Picnic Brigade (we call ourselves the Fighting First Sandwhich) giving essential advice on hitting stuff with other stuff. Xpirex as you are new here you weren't in the first crack units (crack because our trousers ride low and when we bend over...... or it might be cracked units) that got sent in - parachuting in a straightjacket is certainly a skill (its pulling the ripcord with your teeth). However, Baghdad looks to be a city in desperate need of black pills so you can join the second wave if you like. |

Well I was obviously in Iraq. I was sitting around in the power station all day. It was boring. |
