Im not sure if what im about to write makes any sence but here goes!!

How do i use FTP ?? Ive seen people posting ftp addresses in forums etc for other people to download things, how can i do this??? is there away that i can have these things on my computer at home so that people can download from a specific folder??

any help much appreciated.

I'm going to give this a long shot and say that you don't have your own *paid* domain/webspace. If I'm correct in my assumption, you won't be able to setup and FTP server unless your ISP provides you with free space AND allows you to host a server off your own machine.

I don't know of any, but it *might* be possible that there are free FTP servers being provided out there, but I doubt it.

TanGoZ: you could use something like NO-IP to map your dynamic IP to a subdomain of no-ip.org ( i.e. TanGoz.no-ip.org if it's available ), and set up an FTP server with BulletProof FTP Server for instance. Like synax, I doubt there's some reliable and safe free FTP Server.

But if you want to know how to download from an ftp server the answer is different.

1) Get an ftp program (here is a list )
2) Add ftp adres to program
3) Connnect to ftp server
4) Navigate to the program you need.
5) download

And if you want to install an ftp server yourself look at these programs.
