Yu Yu Hakashu is a manga and an anime. But it doesn't have a list of cartoons, it's a cartoon itself. Ghost Fighter and Dragon Ball Z are cartoons themselves also, they have nothing to do with Yu Yu Hakashu.

Hi, guys. I can tell more.
Yu Yu Hakusho is one of the very popular manga in Japan. It had been published for a couple of years on weekly manga magazine, called Jump. Japanese people love reading manga, which is book of cartoon. Everyweek millions of manga magazine has been sold for ages. Dragon ball z also was published on same magazine.

If you come to Japan, please go to book shop. You will find tons of manga books. I was quite surprised there are no such culture in NZ when I came here first time.

Of course some of mangas are not good. But some of them are really wonderful tool to study a lot of things, such as history or biography or whatever. These days Japanese manga has been exported to USA. I don't know yet how it is going.

All right. See ya. Hope this helps you to understand something about manga.

Hiroki,

Manga is doing very well in the US you'll be happy to hear. Even here in the Deep South, Georgia, both Anime and Manga are a growing trend. I was turned onto the genre a couple years ago by a friend who showed me series such as Ranma 1/2, Love Hina, Tenchi Muyo and great OAV's and movies like Vampire Hunter D, Hotaru no Haka and Princess Mononoke.

Since then I have become an fairly avid collector of many Manga and Anime titles. I also find myself more and more intrigued by the Japanese culture everyday and have started to make an effort to learn the language and partake in other Japanese activities. I love to visit some of my local Japanese eateries and share some Sushi or sit around the Hibachi with friends and drink Asahi

I picked up a boxed set of Akira Kurosawa films a few weeks ago which I enjoyed immensely. I'm eager to see more of his works as soon as I can. I hope to visit Japan someday... of course I'd also love to see New Zealand as well. I think you?re very lucky to live there; it's such a beautiful country.

Hi, dmstiner.
Glad to hear that you enjoy Japanese cultural things.
Akira Kurosawa has been respected and loved by a lot of people in Japan.
Unfortunately I haven't seen his movie yet.
And speaking of Princess Mononoke, its producer, Hayao Miyazaki is the most famous cartoon movie creater in Japan. I was grown up with his movie. If I can have kids, I'd love to show his movies to them. Really romantic and nice story.
Are you trying to learn Japanese? It is great! If you need a help, please ask me. I am willing to help you, mate.
And your comment:

sit around the Hibachi with friends and drink Asahi

It is really great comment. Really Japanese cultural things. How do you know Hibachi? It is sort of fire pot, isn't it? I don't know how to discribe well in English. My grand parents used to use it in the winter. It is for make room warm and also cooking like bakeing fish.

All right. Mate. Actually now I am in class so better off to study.
Nice to talk to you, mate.

No, it is thank you. And it is very polite way to discribe your appreciation.
You can just say, "Arigato" to your friends.
In culturally, we use polite and frank type dependent on who you are talking to.
Arigato-gozaimasu, see this word, it consist of Arigato + gozaimasu.
Actually if you put gozaimasu to couple of words, it will become very polite.

For example,

Ohayo-gozaimasu = Good morning.

Yeah, hope it helps you. Have a good weekend!

Ps, Do you know Timaru? I live there.

Manga for me is a fruit.
I love to eat manga, specially when my mamma prepares it for me. She brings it already clean and ready to just enjoy it.
Manga is really good, as a fruit.
You can also drink manga juice.
It's also used for some delicious food.
With this very helpful information, I believe I am collaborating in keeping the high standard set by Yannah to this interesting thread.
BTW, high standard threads are a trademark of Yannah...

ADDED: before someone tries to correct my English, let me tell you that 'mango', in English, is the same as 'manga', in Portuguese.

They have very boring story with childlike dialog. Maybe both stories are better as a comic book...but I doubt it...the animation is horible, artworks suck and story is lame big time...how else can I describe it? its shit...poor work...you dont like my oppionion? then shut up and go away, no one is forcing you to agree with me...

its that simple its my oppinion...

i'll second that, DBZ is shallow tripe for the kiddies.

I really like everything on ruski's list but I think i'll toss in:

FLCL, (because I can appreciate that the creator does drugs too)
COWBOY BEBOP one more time as being some of the coolest anime to watch and listen to.
and
Big 0, I really like that Cartoon Network is stepping in financially and producing anime but still having it done by those with a passion for it. However, someone has to burn in hell for that crap they show on Sunday nights.

I've liked FLCL like someone up above ^^.. Also Outlaw Star, and Blue Sub 6.. Good stuff. (Lately I've been collecting quite a bit of anime, for no particular reason that I can discern..)

I'll say though to the DBZ comment; Just because it's for kids means it's bad? Kids need some stuff to watch too. I liked DBZ when I was younger. I don't anymore, because I've seen what the better stuff is, but still, just because it's geared for younger audiences doesn't mean it's bad.

I wouldn't go as far as to call them crap but Dragonball z & Yuyu Hakashu is published in the Shonen Jump manga which is more for kids then not.
And then the Cartoon Network tranlations/editings dumb them down a lot by taking out anything that might be a little hard to understand.

just a little defense for some shows that I like. Plus I just wanted in this thread.
