A friend of mine asked me to make this page for him. It's not completely operational yet, but what do you think? |

It looks nice. I like that water effect, and the little intro sentence. It's better than "Loading...." |

Oop, maybe I should have considered testing it in Netscape! My bad. Try it in IE for now, if you have it...
---------- |

Yeah it looked great in MSIE 5.x You've got some real talent.
-I'm not a complete idiot, |

ACCK! I can't look at it -- won't connect to that server. has the URL changed, or is the server having problems? or is it just my end. I'll try again later I guess
What care I how time advances? I am drinking Ale today. -- Edgar Allen Poe |

Netscape bug is fixed (unless there's another one...) and the page is much more complete! I'm just waiting for some of the content... but tell me what you think of the new scrolling thing. (The buttons work now, in other words)
---------- |

Your gonna hate me. In NS 4.7 I get:
JavaScript Error: http://tbns.net/wdr/main.htm, line 86: |

The same thing happened to me! I HATE netscape! It always does this! Although, I somehow managed to fix it, or so I thought, before I uploaded it. Darn. And I think this is one of those Netscape bugs that isn't my fault, and there may or may not be a way around. If anyone can figure this one out, feel free.
Arg. |

Let me see if I have this right. You would like all the images preloaded before they show up right?
An idea that may or may not work. |

No, the images aren't the problem. It's a div tag (absolutely positioned) containing other div tags. document.Container is the main div tag, and it has a bunch of
tags inside... you'd really have to look at the source, I think. Thing is, I remember a similar bug once before with the same general thing, and I'm comparing that old page with this one, and I can't find any differences. |

Hmm, that is starnge. I had to go to IE5 on the mac to view the page, Netscape has no luck at all, document.container has no blahblahblah... I've used this same concept before, one div holding other divs, seems to work usually! Seems to freak out right after shutting down the loading div, at this line... "viewbox = document.container;", why is that? Seems to me you could maybe just right that into a string, and then call all of your refernces inside an eval tag, that's usually how I work anyway, so I wouldn't need to re-write much, but your stuff might need more work, hard to tell without digging too deep. Good luck on this, I like the interface, water shapes are always fun. For the graphical bits, I like the water, but the plain ble background is maybe too plain for my taste. How about a dark blue, like the background of the forum, for example? Might have more impact.
|

I thought that line was the problem too, but then I realized it wasn't working either - viewbox comes out to be undefined, and the next time it's accessed (if the program gets that far), it causes an error too. Sigh...
I'll see how a dark blue back works out. That may look better.
---------- |

I think I fixed it. Someone want to double check for me before I get my hopes up?
(Oh, and since tbns.net has prooved to be unreliable (they can't be accessed sometimes), I changed the address to http://www.angelfire.com/ma3/waterdrawingrecords .) |

Man... I had fixed it so that it only messed up *after* a reload on my computer. I'll test again later. |

Worked perfect this time in NS 4.7, and I would not have even noticed the reload were I not looking for it. I also checked it against MSIE 5.0 and and it was great there also. Keep up that good work.
-I'm not a complete idiot, |

WOOHOO it finally works! And I just now fixed an IE 4 bug that made a button not work. Nice. As for the name, I'm just doing what the "client" asked. =) |
