I was working on a preload routine for an upcoming site and wanted to share the effect I made. This is all DHTML except for the flash music. IE5+ , works on NS6 but crumbles after a while and works well on recent mozilla nightlies.

I just added the music in there to accentuate the effect, the actual preload routine I am going to use wont have the music and im changing it to suit a site as in slowing down a lot of stuff as the site is laid back but the concepts are the same.

Eddie,

That's very nice! There is one thing that bugged me a bit though. Each frame is clearly referenced to the same upper left coordinates. It would be perfect if you could center them instead. But again, *very* nice effect.

Yeah, I don't like the font sizes changing very much, but it's cool otherwise.

you could center it easily enough and font size changes can be adapted to users needs. Thats basically a rough script just to see what works and what doesnt, so shouldnt be taken as a final optimised version. I should have been clearer about that sorry!

Basically just wanted to show some of the possibilities of DHTML as flashers tend to think DHTML cant do this sort of stuff.
