Ok, I discovered the advantages of Java navigation which works exactly like the back and forward arrows.
(history.back(); history.forward() )
but what is the reference for home?
thanks in advance

Well, it's not guaranteed to be the start page, but
history.go(0)
will go to the first page opened in that window.

so a history.go(1) would be the second window opened? That's kinda smart.
...*think*...
but if I opened a link in a new window that link would be the first thing and not the real home... right?

Sort of right.
I'm pretty sure new windows in IE5+ inherit their parent's history (which is kinda cool) but other browsers not necessarily.

If you clicked on an URL shortcut which opened the browser to that as history 0.

There probably is a method that does exactly what you want, since I know there's one to set the default homepage. I just couldn't find it before I had to go to staff meeting

Mine is about:blank, by the way.

yeah, but you know what bugs me with about:blank? Sometimes my IE browser doesn;t know what to do with it.
I use that since a long time but after all, I am sick of such little bugs on my homepage. And I forget to sniff through other homepages because theirs are working fine and don;t remember me of my rookieness
