I've read through the archives to see if I could find something about preloading pages and I did but my problem is special (aren't they all?)

collmenus.js calls "menu.html", which has all the dropdown styles, formatting, and text to build my javascript menu. Is there a way to preload menu.html without screwing up the page load? The problem is, the menu loads last and I want it to load first to be useable right away, instead of waiting for the images to load. The menu bar appears but isn't functional until after the page loads.

You can load menu.html in hidden IFRAME and after it finishes loading redirect browser to your frameset page...
