Hello fellow deveopers!
i have been a fan of ozone for quite a while now, and i have to say that this message board is an excellent form of communication.
What i want to know is, what fonts / effect combinations are best to use with photoshop; and where to find the best fonts for high quality images. only ask this because i have many fonts on cd but am afraid to install too many as it slows down my system.
thanks for the great tips so far, keep em coming!

That's entirely a matter of taste, and a matter of what project you are working on. There's just way too many fonts to pick favorites.
What care I how time advances? I am drinking Ale today. -- Edgar Allen Poe

Go to Larabie Fonts (www.larabiefonts.com) and download his "Font Pig". He is really talented - and diverse.
FX are up to your taste -- to make it easier, check out www.actionxchange.com and check out their "text effects" actions that you can download and use for free.

You know what I'd love? Some program to make fonts with. Where could you find one of those? Do they exist?

There are quite a few programs that you can make font with. The ones that comes to mind are Font F/X, FontLab, Fontographer and many others.
There are even quite a few articles about Font Making available. Perhaps Chank Diesel http://www.chank.com has an article available.
Yep, click on info it'll be the second link.
Fonts are addicting. I've far to may of them, and I can never hope to use most of them.
-I'm not a complete idiot,

There's a shareware font editor called scanfont, you can get it from download.com, or ZDnet. Corel draw lets you save line drawings as true type fonts too.
What care I how time advances? I am drinking Ale today. -- Edgar Allen Poe

Whew! Thanks for the tips everyone! I have taken my time to look at the sites posted and am very pleased at the content. As for personal fonts / effect combinations, i will stick to hand tweaking as usual, over pre-made actions. I dl'd the labriefont "pig" bundle and am anxious to try out some new fonts.
What are the best effect packs around? I have heard of many using Kai's Power tools, Eye Candy, among others. What about the use of 3d objects as mentioned in the "apple buttons" post?
Keep your comments coming! Every comment helps!

www.lsfonts.com is a very good source of free fonts. however, i think itodd (from #webdesign on EFnet) is thinking about selling it.
elemental
