Ok.. Long time ago (since october 1999 till April 2000) , I spend many month trying to make awful graphics, strange , beautiful and curious interfaces. I trained. Again and again.
Finally, I made a site, with a part of my work, just thrown there to be seen.
I waited for PRO (like Doc Ozone...) advices and opinion; but I never have the chance to interest anyone.
I've just met guys making photoshop in school and "hey" they said "those things you made, this is s..t! You are not good, so stop boasting!" (do I ever boasted? Obviously yes?), and I've met some "adult ones" with "really serious" job (see what I mean?) who said me that I was just an uncounscious student which spend his time making seriousless things, with no interest at all.
Yep.
I'm overwhelmed now. I spended all my free time trying to become good in at least one thing, and now poo poo poo, I'm nothing.
So, the last thing a will make before closing my site (in order to make more serious things, like studiing quantic physic, Fourier analysis, and such fu...g things, which are 'serious') is this one:
I let my URL here in order to have (??) maybe one ore two words from yours.
I hope the Doc himself will take a look, at least one time...
http://omera.free.fr/
That's it.
Thanks to everyone, don't think I'm mad, or something like that, but the two last month were really hard for me.. I've seen all of my effort blowed away by 'serious' people..so now...

Yow! Harsh harsh, have I been that mean to you? I want to feedback your work, but now I'm afraid to critique the least little thing, your despair is familiar to me! Still and all, I will critique, and hope that you don't fall into the pit of despair and quit this work, it would be a waste of talent (yours!) OK, quantum physics and fourier analysis can be cool too, I started out as a physics student once upon a time, long long ago, but drifted into many other fields. (Maybe not exactly drifted, all the world is physics, even art. Physics can be quite a chaotic thing, dontcha know!)
Your graphics are, to me, a combination of really sharp, and then (at the edges, anti-aliasing!) somewhat jagged. I'm looking at ChronoGyre, and I can see it was made transparent to a white background, and then set over a grey background, that's what causes the roughness at the edges. Your work is very intricate, almost Giger-esque at times, but the texture and color work are rather plain for my tastes, I usually go for a more intense contrast, it makes for more interest to the eye. What you need to do is to start branching out into the scary world of *color*, as well as adding some texturing to your interface structures. That green text-spelling-out tool is pretty cool, one of my favorite bits on the main interface, but the content seems somewhat of an anticlimax, so much fanfare for just a little bit of text. The layer width on that text is off in Netscape on my Macintosh, can't say why just yet, but it extends maybe 60-70 pixels too far to the right.
Well, whatever your work is, it ain't shit, and poo on whomever tells you so, they don't know squat. I'd like to see you spend some more time anti-aliasing your typefaces, and doing some research on the transparency work, you can make the interfaces match the backgrounds a whole lot better, belive me. Check the advanced transparency tute, it goes on at length on just this subject. Look also at the texture wrapping tutorial, your interfaces could use some more interesting textures, grey is too boring.
Is this the last we'll hear from you? Hope not, but if so, good luck to you. If not, try and just bounce in to one of the active threads, most of the action is 'not* in the site reviews section, you can learn more just BS-ing with the folks who hang here regularly, learn how we think, how we laugh, how we fight and also (occasionally) despair. Ciao!

Very nice. I like the style very much. However I do agree with Ozone, I too would like to see you smooth out the edges, and jump head first into the world of color. You have a very good grasp of direction, and unique design. Don't give up, I for one would like to see more of your work posted here.

Hey man, don't despair over what other people think! If they are hell bent on making you feel bad, which these guys (not the ones on this forum) seem to be, don't pay them any mind.
The only kind of criticism that is worth listening to is the kind that DocOzones, F1_error, r@m, DL-44 and others like them and me give you. Constructive stuff, stuff that is meant to help not hurt. If they just say that your work is s**t, just turn around and say, 'really...do you think so...well, quite frankly, I don't give a flying f***!' When all is said and done, your opinion is the only one that can truly make or break your work in your mind. If you don't think that your work is good, you are never going to be able to push it to other people to get yourself a job with it. Get yourslef a little self confidence man. And that is my ranting for the day.

So much to learn, so much to loose...
At the end of this long day, I found with a great pleasure all of yours messages.
I must thank everyone here who posted me advices and support, because that's what I need (I think? ) : support from people who share my passion, the real professionnal ones, the only ones I must listen to.
So... Ok for all of your advice, I know my flaws, and I will (??) correct them.
The lack of color (Hey Doc, I've entered the world of color one time! In fact, that was the color cyan, and I spended one hour trying to clean my head and torso from this ugly ripolin painting! ), I know that, but I always loved graytones... personal choice, but not a always good one.
But hey, ok, let's see what append when I click on this two squares in Photoshop..
For the anti aliasing, I DO KNOW that I MUST spend more time performing it. 'got the message .
There.. one last thing : there was a time where I was really self confident; when someone was asking me something about photoshop, I smiled, answered, showed.HEy, presto, clic clic. That looked natural for me, not effort made. (That's why I LOVE photoshop, too bad it's so expensive...)
So people begin to say me that I was PRETENTIOUS, not because I laughed after them, nor telling them that their work was bad, but because i never tell "no it's impossible" to do that with photoshop. Was always confident ni my skill, and in this magic tool!, always ready to spend nights working hard, always telling people 'ok, i will do it!'.
So, instead of, 'he is a hard worker, passionated' I've had 'he is pretentious'.
???
What a strange world, non? I tried to sell my skills to profesionnal ones, telling them 'be confident, I will make something gooood, you'll be proud' and they said 'too pretentious'.
Work hard, be passionated, and if you have 21 and never have a 'serious job' then you will be considered as a ...
Yep.
Strange world, no?
By the way, thank to everyone!

Firstly, i loved your preload scripts gives a very automated control the feel of the site, designs are unique, very imaginative (scrolling chains & climbing electricity)
The antiailiasing and rough edges have been pointed out...so I won't rub it in
I hope you resume your passion when you find the time

I like that. The preloading images floating around kept me amused. =)
I also agree about the anti aliasing stuff; that could use some work, but I think when you get that down it will look pretty cool. The animation at the beginning was really neat, too (the text that looks like it's being "typed" especially).
Don't give up on this stuff. You're good.
