What ya say we work on a site together...i have an empty web site that i could donate to those who want to get involved and we can use all our strengths to produce a cool members test site........what ya all say...would be a great way to work together on some ideas........any thoughts on if this would work and what the obsticles would be.............im game......i like this bunch of web heads and was just thinkin outloud.....id build the first page then we could all build a page and link em all together.....whata say...................

i'd be interested in participatings, it'd be really cool to see all of our different styles together.

how do you propose we approach this though? do we have separate pages that are our own babies and then link them to eachother? or do we all try to work on the same pages...

this could be really, really fun!

What i would do is give all participants the ftp info then assign them a folder then i would build a link page that would go to those folders..then we could colaborate all the best ideas on the last page.........the theme should be quadrants.......with the index page being the center and the folders being a cosmic galaxies.....then we could have fun visiting each other worlds....plus get to learn code tricks and image tricks as we go........thought it would be a fun project that would unite the board members...we could use this forum to discus how we did the 3d the PS the flash and then meet in the general to discus content.......if this is practical give me a thumbs up if this isnt let me know............just a brain flash i had but this bunch can pull it off.........If Doc OZ isnt to busy we could get him involved as the emerald city........hehehe....................well thats my idea....anyone......

I didnt know what that was all about...i couldnt follow what you all where doing......still a bit foggy on whats happenin there...care to boil it down for me..............this idea i had was without knowledge of that thread.........id like to join in if i can get a clear picture of whats happening....i went to the sign up site but looked generic and got caught wondering.......anyonr???/

Heh, man, I tried to get something like this going on Phong's forum, but no one wanted to do it.

I would be VERY interested, I can do graphics, layout and CGI programming.

I'm with your idea on this DocCyber. The amalgumated site thing is taking off on an entirely different direction. More formal, and structured and alot of regs.

I'm more interested in having fun and joining in on a less formal but still appealing approach.

OK...let me work out the details....Ill build a home port and then a transporter that will connect to each persons page......you will all have the ftp info so you can go in and look at each others file system....Foam .....we could use your server space also.....and maybe you could build some simple cgi scripts for some simple functions as we go....like a security control panel............i can set up an e-commerce Cyber store for flash files and web content.....we can all build a button vault or somethin...........i dont know just throwin ideas around.....................any one else have some ideas on how to construct a galaxy site we can all inhabit .............sort of a hobby club................anyone

Also anyone out there able to build Director files for a PC...i have the Mac version..........or does anyone know how to take a MAC director file and make it cross platform.......i could build this site on a CD and burn everyone a copy then we could realy have some fun.............

I'm in too, sounds like a plan! Maybe r@m might have the capability (but not necessarily the time at the present) to do some director work....I understand he's quite good at it.

Hey, I could write any script for anything, just tell me what it is, We could use my server space, also, maybe we should make one interface, and have each and every one of us pass it around, adding our own touch to it, sending the PSD to the next person on the list, till were done...then we can slice it up and post.

I think that would be cool...then we could all contribute, maybe we could make this site geared toward making tons and tons of tutorials or something, that would be cool...we could make lots and lots =)

this could be HUGE! and we could all post a link back to our PERSONAL sites on there so they can see our individual skills together, and apart.

This is gonna be fun.

Hi. I just recently joined in here, and have been spending most of my time lurking, until I have a few pages built which I'll be wanting opinions on. I'd be interested in working with you on something like this: I'm looking for work, hopefully in the web development field, and the more stuff worth showing, the better. I'll come by these boards pretty often to see the status of this idea. Keep me informed.

(BTW, I'm pretty good at photoshop, html, javascript, etc... learned a whole lot lately through self-teaching, though haven't applied all that much)

Heres what im thinking.......we each have a quadrant .......or world...where talking graphic interface here not a web site but a play site.......Foam can you build us a script that we could use to enter a password that would enter the button vault and sound vault.....i want to make sure we all have say over our world but can collaborate on the gathering...that way each world is unique but the gathering is a gathering of ideas........i think zippin down a ps file would be a good idea so we all can creat a different look that would change daily..........if we creat enough buttons and sound files then we can burn a CD and sell them.........and maybe we can organize a galactic society......small one but a fun hobby............anyways.....thats what im thinking......what we do to bring visitors to your planet is up to you.................but a space port and a hyperdrive link to our worlds should be interesting...........heres a sketch of the overall blueprint...........please add your thoughts.............

I like this idea a lot. I'll contribute all I can, if you want it, that is. I still want the Gurusnetwork to continue though. This has been an excellent idea from the beggining, and its probably going to turn out wonderful when finished.

I'd like to participate, as you've gathered I'd fill a really junior position but I'd like to see it as an opportunity to be a learning experience, any suggestions? I'm still learning HTML and Dan has given me a first lesson on Photoshop (if I can manage to make it work and understand it).

Hey, I may be doing the Guru's Network (which By the way Doc C. is a site that has already gone up, we are just getting the ball rolling into it's future now with graphics, were all writing tutorials on various subjects, JavaScript, Photoshop, 3D Modelling, everything, and we're gonna have a forum of our own and everything.) I'd like to take part in this, we could even link the two sites together!

Yeah, this all sounds good. I'd love to get in on this too if there aren't too many people already. Cyber, I've always enjoyed your airbrushings. Is there a way you could airbrush a nice colorful trippy universe with many different areas or planets or galaxies that would be links representing everybody's little area? We wouldn't be able to customize that part, but it would look good as a main entrance.

EEDAN...thats the idea to creat a nice interface that will transport you to different quadrants...... i know most here have there own web sites or home pages but i was looking for those who want to get involved with a project that was more graphic driven and fun........i guess for those who have nothing better to do....hehehe........anyways it was a thought .....we can link to the other project that is on going but i dont want to take my idea and turn it into a class room...id much rather se it develope into the end results .....visuals... then use this forum to discuss it ..or build a forum which ever direction is appropriate......i have the space and anyone can get involved........i probably jumped the gun a bit as im ready to take off on a month vacation but.......say towards the first of august we will be ready to launch a few ideas..........anyways itll be there for anyone who wants to jump in..........and if you only want to participate for a short time...build a world then have it destroyed by the borg or somethin leavin nothing but a charred ruin for the rest to visit.........this is a 3d -PS-dhtml -javascript.....whatever visual world so ......thats the idea..........once it starts developin you all will get a better idea what im tryin to get started here......and donr worry about the experience youll learn as you go.............

Count me in Doc. I love the idea! I can do layout and design and am quite good with HTML.

What you all should be doing is setting up your story line as to what your world would look like and what is its function...are you a military outpost a garden of eden....get your interface and images up..and when i come back from VA-K well set up the ftp info and we can start uploading.........then i can build a cool flash front page and maybe even a shockwave site for those with bband......and then ill know how to discribe the quadrant you built so visitors will know where and what there tavlin to.........then we can all work on the gatherin place....sort of an outpost where we all can gather for a bit of interaction........get some charactures that have attitude.......and we can have a story that unfolds.............ill be custom painting space rides with a custom galactic paint shop....some of you can bring your hobbies into the picture as well................anyways.....thats what im thinkin.................anyone else...your world is yours.......just dont be the evil guy we have to nuke right away......hehehehe..........cause as moderator you might find your.......world nuked one day and locked out of the folder............well on second thought do that.....itll be fun........you can always come back and build another quadrant........any good writers here.........................

hey man, i could program us our own forum if you would like. I am currently working on my forum for foam (www.foam.ms) but im sure id be able to take that source code and twist it a bit to make one for us. =)

id just need the graphics made to match the site.

guys the skys the limit.......like i said build what you want.....Foam go for it..........lets get creative.......im alredy thinking that some will get hijacked when they hyperlink to a quadrant that will take them to a planet which theyll have to solve a riddle ta get to where there going..........we need imagination based on what we can do with great images and great code........those who get involved will be asked to join the resistance so we can keep this idea locked in to those who participate....then we can form a federation and keep all images and codes total property of those who created them.........i would like to see if we could develope a fun amusement park of controled chaos......................what ya think

Heh, I'd be into this too! The GurusNetwork thing is getting too organized for even me, and I own the domain! I was mainly concerned with just setting up an entry page and a bunch of different sections, now I feel like a "Junior Member" in the new forum, heh. I'm an anarchist, let's have some fun!

Hey guys havnt left yet but got another idea ...im going to throw together a bunch of terrain images together and some props so to speak so others who havnt the ability to build them can take from the image library and with PS build worlds of there own........ also that way everyone even those who havnt the skills yet to create can join in.........the rest can add images as well......i think if you use a bck ground color that can be easily seperated then some intersting images can be fused together.........somethin like this as a prop image

A few more ideas on props.........that can be cut up and used....and put in a image library...these will only be available to registerd members of the alliance
