Preserved Topic: The new Photoshop LE: Photoshop Elements

I was browsing round the Adobe site as I tend to do when I get bored on a Saturday evening (I need to get a life!) and I came across a new Photoshop Version (New to me anyways). As you should have guessed by the thred topic it's called Photoshop Elements and it seems to be the Photoshop 6 LE, just with a different name.

This may not be anything new and I may be repearing old news but I havent seen anything mentioned here as of late. If this is old news just abuse me as you usualy would and I'll ingore you all as I usualy do

Looks like they've made some things easier for the photographer non-PS power user. Like the red-eye thing. Red-eye is no big deal to touch-up, but they made it filter ready built-in or something. Know what I mean?

I must admit that I am curious about the photograph stitching. Doing it by hand takes time and practice. And, last I knew, automating such a task is rather heavy. I can't help but wonder how it works in PS Elements.

there was a segment on a tv show that reviewed it a few weeks ago. it has a lot of neat things for the new PS user. the help is in depth and the filters are applied by drag-n-drop methods. i remember them saying something about it missing gif functions that web users might need. i dunno. sounds like a good alternative to the full-blown version.
