Get away from the filters and go look at some fire. Then see what you can do. Play around with shades of red and orange and the gaussian blur filter, the selection tools, and the smudge tool. And definitely check out the tutorials. |

The Eye candy filter is good for one thing: producing slightly realistic fire with just three mouseclicks. If you want control, forget it. Yes, it has adjustment sliders, but you keep seeing that it's eye candy. It's not much different. (I stopped counting how many times I've seen it in ads... I see one every second Video games magazine I read. (no, I don't own a console, I just like to read that stuff.) |
