Anybody knows a specific technique to to this Doc's pic transparency?

It's a JPG -- it's not transparent. The transparency is just an obsticle confusion.

Yeah, i know, but is at least a jpeg transparency, isn't it? ok
But i want to know HOW to make it, you know, the background over the pic, or whatever it is.....

hey wakkos.. hows Florida treatin ya?.

ok.. take a photo .. grab a background...

open background file.. and drag n drop the photo into the bg file so that you have 2 layers.. the photo above the bg layer. got it?

now resize the layer with the photo to be the size you want.. create a selection (any shape) feather it (select --feather)... now either do one of 2 things...

invert the selction and delete *or* click on the add layer mask button at the bottom of the layers pallete.

this is done to fade the edges of the photo layer

to get the over lay effect.. change the blending mode of the photo layer to 'overlay; or or softlight. Experiment a bit. You could also leave the blending mode as normal and lower the opacity of the layer....

.jpg do not have transparency. He just picked a good background to work with. Resize the window a couple of times and you will see that it changes, it is not perfect, it just works pretty good with what is there.
