Well that is my question. Using the line tool does NO good. Way too many jaggies. |

1. make sure the anti-alias box is checked for the line tool... |

Holding shift will constrain the line tool to 45 degrees. Other than that, your next best angles are (i'm guessing here now ) 30 and 60. |

would an illustrator/vector path be the best way to get rid of the 'jaggies'? |

No you'll still get jaggies even with vector's at certain angles. |

Yeah, this is starting to give me a headache. It is pretty much a 45 degree angle. With the line tool you get some serious jaggies. |

The only trick to it I know is the anti-aliasing thing. It`s the only way to smooth the transition between pixels. Pencil tool =bad...paintbrush= good |

Make sure your line tool is set to 'Create filled region', with anti-aliasing. It sometimes defaults to 'Create new work path', which tends to look jaggy (as well as not actually laying down pixels). 'Create new shape layer' generates an incredibly jaggy 'line', but looks ok when you rasterize it. |

Thanks for noting that, Das. I set the shape tool to "create filled region" ages ago. Completely forgot it had other modes lol. CPrompt that should do the trick for you |
